no means no

I think some two year olds understand that better than Manny's vet!
As you know (if you've read my blog for any amount of time) we've struggled with Manny's skin issues...and found out it's allergies.  He started his injections today.
Well, he was supposed to start them yesterday...and I had our SUV and he wouldn't jump in the back to go bye bye...he hurt his leg once awhile back jumpin up there and now sometimes he won't do it.  So I had to switch Josh cars and take him today.  I made an appointment to drop him off at 11.  I dropped him off, came home...and at 1:00 the vet called to tell me he was doing fine.  (They want to keep him for two hours after the injection to make sure he doesn't have a bad reaction to it)  So he's doing well...but has (another) ear infection...and she thinks we should do the skin test to make sure there's nothing wrong with his skin.
Wait--side note--before we forked out the $200 for his allergy test...we did a skin scrapping, steriods, changed food, diet, all this other stuff and that was pretty much all we could that cost less than the allergy test...so we finally broke down and did the test, when nothing else was working.  Then the VERY SAME trip (after the allergy test was done) we had him in there they tell me about this other test to test his skin!  Are you freaking kidding me...why didn't you tell me about this MONTHS ago! ugh.
I have told them no about 8 times for this other test....I would like to do one thing at a time so we can figure out the problem.  But today she had to ask again...I tell her no again.  I tell her to treat his ear infection and I'll be there around 1:30 to get him...(note:  2.5 hours after drop off)  she goes "oh can you wait a little while longer..." I said...I dropped him off at 11:00am.  They didn't freaking do his injection until 12:30!  ugh!!! What the heck is the point of me making an appointment then?
She tried to tell me I could leave him there all day...yada yada...No!  Poor guy hasn't been in a cage in well over a year...I'm not leaving him in there all day!

I'm giving her 20 extra minutes.  That's all she gets.  And my attitude when I pick him up, she gets that too.

I wouldn't have believed you...

If you would have told me a year ago that I would have a baby sitting beside me one year from now, I wouldn't have believed you.  (We planned to try the beginning of November, but I didn't expect to get pregnant on the first try)

If you would have told me one year ago that I would be a stay at home mom and that we'd be ok financially...I wouldn't have believed you.

If you would have told me that I'd change my daughters diaper, and then leave it lay for 30 minutes before I walked it outside...I wouldn't have believed you.

If you would have told me that my daughter would be born with a head full of dark hair (like her daddy's) I wouldn't have believed you.

If you would have told me that we would be awesome at breastfeeding..I wouldn't have believed you.

If you would have told me that my dog would walk in from outside with muddy feet and get paw prints all over the kitchen floor and I wouldn't immediatley clean them up because there's other things to worry about for the time being...I wouldn't have believed you.

It's amazing how things have changed in one  year...with the birth of such a little thing :)
Don't get me wrong...things are still clean and done around here...just not as quickly as they used to be.

I like Mondays

Every Monday when I get on Facebook everyone is so sad about it being Monday...I like them! :)  Maybe it's because I don't have a (outside of the home) job that I dread going to!

Zoe has a cold :( I had one last week and within a day she got it!  (Gotta love breastfeeding!)  Poor thing is so conjested!  We've been putting vicks on our chests and holding her...steaming up the bathroom and holding her in there...all those little things to help her.  I took her to the doctor today and she said we're doing everything that we can...we just have to wait for it to pass.  (I knew that, but Josh really wanted me to take her...he gets worried)  We did find out that she went from 9lbs 11oz to 10lbs 9oz in 10 days! wooo!  There must be steriods in my breastmilk haha. :)

I've been a busy bee working on Photography stuff!  I bought a new camera and I've vowed to put more into my side business.  I had three shoots this weekend and they rocked.  One maternity, One family and One engagement!  We went to two beautiful parks, both of which I had never been to.

Josh started his new job today.  I just talked to him and he said he's enjoying it but it's very different.  A much slower pace.

I went through all of my classes for school today...I have 7 classes left! Woot!  I could pack them into 2 quarters...but we'll see..I might do it in three.  I'm so ready to be done, but these last course are the hard ones that I've been putting off.

Me and some girlfriends are going to The Zane Trace Inn in two weeks.  This is my third time going and I've very excited to get some scrapbooking done!

Little Miss!

The Pumpkin Show started yesterday!  We've been waiting all year for some Pumpkin donuts :)  Yum!  Logann was in the Little Miss contest...so I headed down to moms to help Melissa get her ready.  She rode on the hood of Josh's Dads Mustang.  Before the parade started we had to (be lined up) and sit there for an hour...the last 30 minutes Logann was so nervous.  Every five minutes she was yelling at us to get in the car.  When the boom went off and the parade "officially started"  she jumped and yelled at us to hurry up and get in!  We told her we weren't going to miss it, and that we'd probably still be sitting another 20 mintues...30 minutes later we finally got to start moving.  She did great!  She sat like a lady, and smiled and waived the entire time!

I think I got some nice looks for letting a 6 year old hold a baby on the hood of a car!  ha!
Abbie was also in the contest!  Isn't she adorable.  There were 148 girls and they took them up in front of the judges 8 at a time...then picked a few to move on to the next round. (Out of each group)  Logann got picked from her group!! :)

Zoe hung out with daddy and with Loganns daddy (Kevin) during the parade!  (I drove and Melissa rode with me)  Maddy was also there...she won princess at Deercreek Dam Days!  :)

Josh volunteered to ride the faris wheel with Chandler--Thank you Honey :)  My mom cares for these three siblings...(mom what's the program called again?  I always forget) they are special needs kids... and they are so fun to be around.  Every time we're around them we get a memorable comment from one of them.
This was the the one from Chandler on the way home....
It was dark out and he and Zoe were in the back seat---Zoe sneezed---Chandler says "What's that noise...Is the baby in the trunk?"  haha :) Maybe you just should have been there for it to be as funny as we thought it was.  Or know his personality :)

Daddy Time

Josh has been enjoying some daddy time latley while I've been in class, scrapbooking and doing homework.  When I came home from class last night they were hanging out on the couch like this :)  Z loves to sit/lay on a pillow...with her feet on your lap, with her blankie.  I think she was trying to watch TV in this photo (which she does frequently, or she tries to do...I don't allow it)  and Josh was tickling her and making noises at her (hense his mouth)  she was laughing!  Love these moments.

Who needs sleep anyway!

Saturday, Me, Cindy and Melissa headed to Lima for 3 classes and a crop!  The owner/designer of the kit club we are in was teaching up there so we made a day of it!  I was up at 4:30 am; fed Zoe and got ready to go.  We had an awesome day.  While we were up there we found an AWESOME scrapbook store.  We are going to make a trip up there again in a few months :)

Sunday was another family Reunion on Josh's side of the family, so we headed to Piketon.

That's Tammy (Grandma...or "Ma" as Josh calls her) showing Zoe off.  I think the first thing she said to everyone was "Hi--Have you seen my granddaughter...come see her"

And the best part about the trip...is enjoying the beautiful colorful trees on the way down and the way back :)

Trains and Two Year Olds

Josh brought me these beautiful flowers on Monday for our Anniversary :)

The two year that I'm watching as officially started! He's so much fun. I forgot how fun two year olds are. When we went to IKEA last weekend we bought him a train set...I gave it to him and he loved it!

Of course he loves Josh...He figured out how to say Josh before my name. Go Figure. He also says "Zoe" "Baby Zoe" :) Love it!

My Accounting class is going better than I thought it would! Let's hope the rest of the 9 weeks go as well.

Zoe got her first shots on Tuesday! She had 3 of them. They didn't seem to bother her on Tuesday, but Wednesday she was miserable :( She had a high fever all day...was cranky and just wanted held and snuggled. Josh was with her while I was in class and he said she just cried all night and couldn't get comfortable. She also threw up (a lot) every time we gave her Tylenol :( She couldn't keep it down. Poor thing. But today she is all better!

She stays awake more and more...and smiles and does little giggles, even sometimes. She still gets mad when I put her on her belly for tummy time...but hopefully she'll figure out how to roll herself over when she's mad! We have started putting her in her bumbo! She loves it! She loves to sit up when she’s awake--and see what's going on...she doesn't want to be held like a baby, unless she's ready to go to sleep! Such a big girl already!

When I had her at the Doctor on Tuesday we were talking about her reflux med and she (dr) said we'd do it for one more month...then she'd be at the point that she'll be starting cereal and hopefully we can go without the med! It hit me then how "big" she's getting already..Imagining her sitting up and eating from a spoon! EEK!

Oh!  I almost forgot because I haven't been allowed to talk about it for awhile...Josh put in his two weeks!  And he starts his new job on October 26th!  We're very excited.   It's an IT position that will allow him to use his degree. (that we're paying so much for haha)

I said "I do" :)

Today is Josh & I's two year anniversary!

We celebrated this weekend.  We went shopping on Friday night (I got a new printer and he got Guitar Hero 5...romantic huh? :)  ) and to The Montgomery Inn for dinner on Saturday night.

Am I dreaming?

My mom always told us to figure out what we love, and do it for a living! She always says "what would you wake up and do everyday even if you didn't get a paycheck for it?"

Well, I just found my dream job...and you better believe I'm applying for it!
The best part, I can still be a stay at home mom while doing it!
I'll keep you posted...in the mean time, keep me in your thoughts and prayers!

Clean Scrapbook Room

I realized I had never posted photos of my scrapbook room on here.  I worked hard on cleaning it yesterday, so I took a few photos this morning :)
This is the view as you walk in the room:

I want to put a valance up above the windows, but I just haven't found one I like.  I'll probably end up making it!

I just added these recently...My paper used to be in one of the cabinets, but it was so hard to find what I was looking for!

I have some of my embellishments hanging on these!  I love to be able to see them.  If I put them in a drawer somewhere, I forget I have them.

1990

Everyone has "those" grandparents right? (Just tell me you do for my sanity)

Ok there's My moms parents, my mamaw and papaw. Mamaw could be on that show Hoarders! They have so much stuff. Two houses full! They go to the auction every Monday night and sometimes buy more stuff.

If you say you want something, they probably have it...and they will give it to you...or sell it to you (depending on what it is). They mean well, they really do. But sometimes there's just too much stuff! Someday (I know it's bad to think about) when something happens to them...we're going to have two houses full of "stuff" to go through. Mom always says we're going to rent one of those huge dumpsters...(not a normal size one that you see behind a store...a huge one you see on a construction site) put it on the lawn and just hull the stuff out.

Tonight they called when they were leaving the auction...they had some stuff for me. (And they wanted to see Zoe of course)

He was so proud that she latched onto his finger and fell right to sleep! He was also proud that her bink fell out of her mouth...because he hates those things.

So among this stuff they brought were; all natural dog treats for manny, a vice for Josh (from the auction that he mentioned he wanted awhile back) and this.......
that's right...a 20 year old bottle of Dreft! Mamaw said she was cleaning out under the sink and found it and thought she'd bring it to me. "It's a brand new bottle, never been opened...I don't think soap goes bad...does soap go bad" she said. I just laughed and thought whatever, it looks old enough to be bad, I won't use it...I'll just thank her. A few minutes later after she was inspecting the bottle I hear.... "1990 Tash!" hahahaha Josh said "That's twenty years Charlotte!" She laughed. And I had to take a picture of it...because it just cracks me up.

I had to share this one...because Zoe is breakin' her neck to watch football...which she often does when daddy has it turned on :)

What you might see!

A Friend of mine does this thing on her blog once in awhile....where she says what you might see if you came into their home. I love it! So Liz, I hope you don't mine...but I'm taking your idea :)

What you might see in our home this week...

Mommy working on some photo editing and other little projects, and homework, while Zoe hangs out in her favorite chair!

Little Miss Z who is smiling more and more when we talk to her and on Cue. She also is "Cooing" a ton now. Last night we were working on some stuff in her room and she laid on her changing table and just stared at her ABC cards and talked up a storm! I love listening to that :)

I'm also trying to get our fall decor out this week! I know I'm a little behind. But it's all in the basement crawl space and I just haven't been too excited about getting up there to get it. But tonight I am going to do it. Then I need to go get some pumpkins for the front porch. I will share some photos when I finish :)

We had to stop yesterday (at Carter's...oh darn another excuse to go in there hehe) to get Zoe some long sleeve 0-3 month stuff. All of her 0-3 stuff was short sleeve...and this cold weather doesn't seem to be going away!

Oh! Mom bought a baby scale...she weighs 9lbs 12oz. She's a growin girl!

Cousins

Megan came up with Alyvia yesterday...she is at such a fun age. She giggles and she's starting to dance...Love it!

We put the girls on the floor and let them "play" I got a bunch of good photos....but here's a few for now! (Will post more later)

Happy Birthday Dave!

Tuesday was Nataleigh's Husband Dave's Birthday...so last night we went out to Celebrate! It was Josh and I's first night (both) away from Zoe. Mom and Dad came up to watch her at our house while we were gone for a few hours! Nataleigh kickin my butt in some shooting game!
We played this trivia game like 5 times and Nataleigh only missed one question the whole time!

This stupid game kept Dave entertained more than anything else. They were closing, and we had like 15 minutes left and he stood there and played it like 10 times over and over...he did win 3 CD's and a SWEET watch ;)

On the way out we all had to try the jump rope game...we all sucked. At least they had been drinking so that was their excuse...I didn't have one haha.

Scrap!

I thought I'd share a few layouts that I did this weekend at Scrap Pink :)

This one still needs one more picture and some journaling!
It was a kit from the Whole Kit and Kaboodle by talented Andrea Deer! :)
