New Years Eve...

I'm excited for tonight because with it...comes lots of good food :)
I work until 1:00pm then I'm meeting my mamaw at Babies R Us to help her pick out Megan's Shower gift!
Then I'm going to go home and make a dip for tonight then take a little nap!
We're having dinner with Cindy & Don and then going to a friends house to ring in the New Year.
We will be close to home so that's good...I don't like driving home late with the drunk drivers on the road.

I hope everyone has a safe night!!

My Husband

Last night I was sitting on the couch, and my husband was in the chair.
Now visualize this,
The stairs to our basement are behind the couch...
His chair kind of faces the couch.
Manny brings us his toy, we throw it (usually towards the stairs) he gets it, then brings it back, and it happens again and again.
So, last night I'm sitting there and J decides his new goal is to throw Manny's little chicky as close to my face as he can, so it flys by me and over the couch. Let's just say he got closer than I thought he could and I didn't find it funny. Punk!

Now I have to find away to get him back :)

Lessons learned in 2008

I was thinking today about the future...but I think it's important to learn from the past first.

I learned that worrying gets you no where, but if you leave it in God's hands it works out as he wants it to, and as it should.

I learned everything happens for a reason.

I learned that it's best to let things or people go that don't always work out as you wish they would, even though it isn't easy to do.

I also learned that things don't always get done when or how exactly I want them too, but it's fine in the end.

And just now I learned my DH is a pain in my butt!
(More on that later)

12.27.2008

A few months ago when I looked at the calendar..the "Saturday after Christmas" sounded it it was so far away. Here it is. 12:45 on Saturday the 27th.
I'm at work. Waiting for 5:00.
Josh is going to his brothers basketball game tonight...so I get the house to myself. I plan on putting my pj's on and curling up with a blanket and my laptop! I am working on organizing all my photos on that external Hard drive. (Have I mentioned how excited I was to get that!)

Next Saturday is Megan's shower. I have her gift all ready, wrapped and sitting waiting to be opened. I have one more little thing to wrap also. Then, this week or next I HAVE to finish the "Alyvia's arrival" Gift. She's going to be here before we know it and I need to have it ready, and wrapped. I hope they like it.

We planned a date to head back to Ikea. The 24th! I think Josh is going to go this time. He's interested now. I just hope he has the stamina to make it through the entire store with me haha. My Dad wants to go this time too. I've been making my list. This time I have a catalog so I can mark things in there too! I need a few things for the house for projects that I want to finish. It seems my list is never ending my I'm trying to focus on organization things right now.

Photos...

You can now steal them.
I took the block off :)

(You're welcome mom)

It has come and gone

Christmas that is. Months of preparing and organizing...and now it's over. So quick!

It's not technically over for part of my family though :) We're celebrating with my parents on New Years Day! That means more present giving, and getting later. Woo hoo.

Yesterday was great. I got up and made breakfast, and Josh and I hung out and opened our stockings. We exchanged gifts on Christmas Eve. Josh has wanted a North Face Jacket for a long time now, so I got that for him.

We then played like every game that we have. If you haven't noticed recently we've been playing a lot of games. It's great. I think games are an awesome way to get to know your other half, or other people in general.

Then my mom came up, and Dev and Meg (and Hershey) came over a little later. Josh made waffles for dinner! Yum! And we watched some Lakers basketball and laughed at the dogs. (And of course, played more games)

It was nice to not have to leave home and just hang out and laugh.

Today I'm working. Then we're headed to Chillicothe to visit with Josh's Aunt and Uncle. (And Grandma & Grandpa)
I think I'm going to make a taco dip to take :)

Merry Christmas!

I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday.

Josh and I are spending the day together...at home.

Santa brought me a cricut expression...(that was my early gift)
and an external Hard drive! Whoo hoo. Very excited about that.

I will post more later!

Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve Already.
I'm at work...until 1:00 Thankfully.

Then I have to hurry home, get ready, pack up gifts and head south. We're driving to Josh's Parents tonight. It's going to be a big night for them and they have no idea :) We also have a little surprise for his Grandparents that we'll be dropping off!

Hopefully we're not there too late...I want to be snuggled into my bed before Santa comes through our door!

Even though Santa already brought be the best present ever!!

Sleep.

I made it through the night last night....I left the mall at 1:45 AM! I was not a happy camper.
I just kept telling myself it's only one day and I will like it when the pay check comes..haha.
But now it's Tuesday and I'm so tired.

When I get off work tonight I am going home and sleeping! IDK if it will be "going to bed" or a "nap" we'll see how I feel.

Josh, the lucky duck, is off work for the rest of the week. He was snoozing away when I left this morning.

Side note...(if you didn't already know this) do NOT turn off your heat in the winter. I thought everyone knew that. But evidentally not. We had someones pipes burst this morning because they went out of town and turned their heat off :( Hopefully they're prepared for what they have to come back to :(

2 days until Christmas!

Baby it's Cold outside!

I don't know where you're reading from, but here in Ohio, this morning it was TWO DEGREES outside! Then we have this wind...that makes it even worse. With wind chill we're at about -8 degrees! Oh my! Needless to say I'm sitting here drinking Hot Chocolate. Alone. At work.
That's going to be the pattern for my week.
This week is going to suck.
Tonight I work here at MV until 6 then I have to be at the VS from 6:30-1:00am. (That should be fun...sike) Then I work everyday this week with the exception of Christmas Day.
This week includes three fun filled days of working the weekend alone. I don't have a day off until Tuesday (next Tuesday) So While everyone's eating cookies and enjoying friends and family I'll be sitting here. bored. Ok I'm done venting. After all next week I have 5 days off :)
(This week still sucks)

Last night we went to mom and dad's and had dinner with them and Melissa and Kevin (and Logi) We played Dutch Blitz. I forgot how much I liked that game. I need to buy it. I also got to meet Hershey...she's a spunky little puppy..but oh so cute!

Well here's to keeping warm...and a long week.

Oh my!

I haven't blogged since Wednesday!
I've had a busy few days..Friday I was off work so Cindy and I went to Cord in Hilliard to Scrapbook. She ended up having to leave early so I headed home and relaxed for a little while then ran to a few stores to finish up Christmas presents and Baby shower gift! Done! Everyones done! Then Josh and I hung out here and I worked on the baby gift some more. I also wrapped all of our Christmas gifts.

Today has been a lazy day, we slept in...and it's 1:30 and I'm still in my PJ's :) I love it. I picked up the house and have been cleaning my scrapbook room....it's coming along I'm almost done.
No big plans for tonight, maybe scrapbooking more with Cindy. She has a Gift she has to finish before Christmas!

Devon & Megan got a puppy! It's prooving to be good practice before Alyvia. hehe. She's a black lab, they found her on the side of the road last weekend on their way home. She was starving, they took her to the vet and named her Hershey!

I owe you some photos I know that...

Not like me.

I haven't blogged in a few days and that's not like me as you all know.
Josh and I have a lot going on at home that has been keeping us busy.

I started to post about our work Christmas Party the other day, but the photos wouldn't upload.... started again tonight and my photos were gone (from my memory card). I let Nataleigh use it the other day to copy them to her computer and she "cut" instead of "copied" oops :) So I will get them back from her computer tomorrow and then post them!

I didn't work today and it was great to be home and get some things done. I cooked a pot roast for dinner...it smelled up the house all day. After I got that ready I cleaned the house and then gave Manny a bath. He now has clean bedding and smells fresh!

My parents and Dev & Meg came over tonight for dinner. They brought an Ice Cream cake from Dairy Queen...yummy!

In shopping news.... My package came with Devon's gift...now I just need to get Josh's stuff! Then my shopping will be complete. I started wrapping a few gifts today! Josh and I are going to work on them more this week.

Megan is now 30 weeks. Alyvia will be here before we know it. I have to finish her gift I am about half way done with it. I need to make another trip to JoAnns tomorrow to get the goods that I need! I'm very proud of myself that I haven't spilled the beans about it. I get so excited about gifts and then spill it....but this time I've kept it quiet. I hope they like it.

Cross your fingers VS doesn't use my On call tomorrow! :)

10 Days and Counting!

10 Days until Christmas. Can you believe it?

Is all your shopping done?
I'm done with the exception of stocking stuffers for Mr. J.
I ordered my brothers gifts online from The Fire Store and it hasn't arrived yet...I just called and they said it should be arriving today :)

I love Christmas time...have I mentioned that? I can't wait!

Christmas Eve we're going to visit with Josh's Family. Then Drive back home and spend Christmas Day at home with just the two of us (plus the animals). We agreed on this a few years ago and last year was the first year we started it. We wanted to start this tradition before we had children, so when we do have them...they can be home all day on Christmas and play until their little hearts are content!

We're celebrating with my Family on New Years Day. We wanted to extend the Holiday a little longer.

I might try to wrap some presents tonight! I'll post some photos!

TGIF

It's Friday :)

We don't have any big plans for tonight! I plan to just do whatever and maybe watch some Christmas Movies. I need to stop at JoAnn's get to something for the present for Meg & Dev's baby gift and then I'll probably work on that a little tonight!

Tomorrow I have an on call shift at VS at 8:00 am! I'm crossing my fingers they don't use it! Then we're going to see Four Christmas' with Nataleigh and Dave.

I hope everyone has a great weekend :) I'm sure I'll do some blogging later..

Eye High Kicks!

Last night was the Rockettes.
We had dinner at Boston's Pizza before the show and then walked over to the Arena.
We had awesome seats! There were eight of us all in a row :)
The show began with the Rockettes as reindeer and Santa joined them.
They had many outfit changes... my favorite are the rag dolls. It used to be the Soldiers but I am ready for a new favorite :)

There were a few surprises in the show that I will not spoil incase you go see the show here or make it to NYC and see it!

Thank you girls for a great night out...I had an awesome time.
(I have a video to upload...but it won't work....I'll try again later!)

What's your beef?

Every Wednesday morning on WCOL, Wood does "What's your beef?" Callers can call in and just vent about something that drives you crazy.

So here's my beef this Wednesday morning. I have three.

1- Drivers that feel the need to slow down or even STOP on the Freeway because there's a cop (police, Statey whatever) sitting doing something. If he needed help he'd call for back up. He doesn't need us to stop and look!! If you want to look at him or his car....speed! I'm sure he'd be happy to pull up behind you with his red and blue lights on too! And if you run your mouth a little, you might even get to see the inside of his car!

2-Drivers who go 65 MPH or less in the LEFT lane. No! The Right lane is for the 65 and under. The middle is for 65ish. And the left. Is for those of us who like to break the law and Speed. Get out of the way. If we want to speed it's our business.
(This morning I was stuck behind a non American woman who thought it was needed to travel in the left lane for way to many miles, going 63!!)

3- If it's sprinkling....you don't need your wipers on high. I don't know why that drives me nuts, but it's one of my biggest pet peeves. Adjust your wipers to the appropriate speed please!

And with that I'm leaving you with T minus 9 hours and 10 minutes. (Because I think the shows at 7:00 not 7:30 oops!)

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

Thank you!

Tonight I won an award.
I thought it was only fair I blog about it :)

See Here...

Read her comments to see the speech I wrote!

PS...T minus 20 hours and 5 minutes and Santa will be announcing the Rockettes!!

Tuesday. Tuesday. Tuesday.

It's Tuesday. One more step towards Friday :)
I'm working at MV today..then at VS tonight. BLAH!
The mall is now open until 10pm...which means we're there closing until at least 11:30. Last week we got out a midnight. I've been very selective with the availability I have given them because the mall is open until 11 and midnight on the weekends. There's no way! The only thing getting me through today (and tonight at work) is tomorrow!

I've watched them on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for years! And now I get to see them live in person for the third time.

Tomorrow is the big day! Tomorrow night at 7:30 pm I will be sitting my excited little bum in a seat at Nationwide Arena with 7 girlfriends watching the Radio City Rockettes. I can not wait! I've seen the Rockettes twice. Once in NYC at Radio City in 2002 and once here in 2003. But this is the first time that their performance is traveling to Cities (near you) and performing at local Arenas. When they were here in 2003 they were at the Palace, which was great. But this will be awesome! It gives me goosebumpz...makes me excited like an eight year old ready for Christmas and dreaming of being a Rockette.

I am not allowed to take DSLR but I will be taking the point and shoot and I'll be sure to take photos and post them :)

Snow & More Game nights!

Friday night we went to BD Mongolian for Dev's Birthday dinner. It was so very yummy!
Sorry about the hands in the photo. Josh couldn't keep his hands off of it long enough for me to take a photo!

After dinner everyone came back to our house and we played Cranium for a little while. After a little while, mom and dad headed home and the rest of us played Catch phrase. We played girls vs. boys (Crystal, Megan and I against Lucas, Dev and Josh)

Saturday morning Josh and I slept in a little and then awoke to snow on the ground. Manny was in love. He still is. He has spent most of the weekend outside running in it and eating it!
Josh hung Christmas lights outside on the house today! I will take a photo tomorrow night. Right now It's too cold and I'm not going out there!

Happy Birthday little Bro!

Happy Birthday to you....
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday dear DEVON!
Happy Birthday tooo yyoooouu!

My little brother is TWENTY today! EEEk I'm getting old!

I hope you have an awesome day!

Home Projects

Since we've purchased our home I have always had projects.
It's just what I do. I love it.
I have painted most of the house. And I love to decorate and find different things to do with it.
My mom always tells me to be careful because I might not always get my money back out of the house. But the projects I usually do are things that will benefit us, or things that we'll take with us. (curtains...pictures on the walls etc.)

So these are the things I want done soon!
My Pantry... There's this awkward corner in my kitchen that I want turned into a pantry. It won't be very big, but it will do for what I need. My dad said he'd help me. And I've just put it off with money being tight. But I think I'm ready.

Paint the huge wall going down my steps (in the entry way) It's way to big for me to do w/ a ladder..and I don't want to do it honestly. So I've talked to our painter at work and he said he'd do it for me for a "very reasonable price" SOLD.

Change the door knobs on our doors. They're all gold. Yuck. I want these silver ones. I have them picked out. I just need to order them. That's third on my list.

We need a headboard. I'm going to make one. That isn't going to be too hard. I just need to decide on a fabric for it!

I want a hook put in the peak of my house (outside) above my garage door. I've been asking for someone to do it since we bought the house um..... 18 months ago.

Today, we're going to Lowes...and to Josh's liking or not... we will be :
-Getting a hook for the house
-Picking out a paint color
-Pricing the stuff for the pantry...and maybe even buying the drywall for it!

I have a much longer list but most of it is small stuff that just requires time to do :)

Blog World....

I love it when I go to my blog (yes I'm a dork I go to mine first)
and I look over here -------------------------->
to that blog list and everyones names have moved around.
You see they're set to move the person who has blogged most recently to the top!
I especially love days like today when I visit all the blogs and lots of people have blogged....

Megan, Nataleigh, Cindy, Amy, Sarah, Karen Russell... the list goes on!
I <3 (heart) it.

Tonight we're going out for the best dinner. With my family.

I shall update you with photos, and I'm sure a few stories! (Devon, Lucas and Josh at one dinner table!)

Sights of Christmas

Our Christmas Tree is officially done! And 95% of the decorations!

I went to Lowes yesterday and picked up the things I needed. (I also bought a tree skirt...which we needed very badly!) It was $12.50 I was happy!

I finished everything last night with the exception of a ledge we have. I'm going to have to bring the ladder in on Saturday to put my decorations up there.

I love the looks of a home decorated for Christmas! I do not however, love carrying the crap up and down the steps. (Josh helped a minimal amount with that, which we got into an argument about.) I just wish it could last a tiny bit longer.

Hot Choclate & Whip Cream

This morning I stopped at Tim Hortons to get a Hot Chocolate...They make my favorite. So the board said a large was $1.55.

The situation went something like this:

TH Lady: Tim Hortons, How can I help you?
Me: Can I get a Large Hot Chocolate with Whip Cream Please!
TH Lady: Yes, That will be $1.95. Please pull up...
Me: How much?
TH Lady: umm.. $1.95

Me silently pulling forward and calculating. Then I asked...just to make sure. Then I found out that whip cream isn't included in the price on the board. And I paid 40 cents for whip cream! Are you serious? What's wrong with me! That's ridiculous.

So I decided. I will still get hot chocolate...but hold the whip!

I took a half day off work today! Yay for unused vacation time :) I'm going to run to Cord to pick up my great deal on my Christmas Present! Then to Franklin to get my books for next quarter. Then to Lowes.

We (wait...I) put up the Christmas tree last night. We need a few things. And Lowes has their Christmas Decorations for 50% already...so I'll be making a trip there today.

Then Josh and I are going to Easton to do some Christmas Shopping! I'm very excited.

I Love buying Christmas presents for others.
I was talking about it at work yesterday...and I had to explain that to me.....It's all about the giving and not the receiving.

I have my list all typed out. I'll let you know how it goes!

Walmart employee killed

http://video.msn.com/video.aspx?mkt=en-us&vid=656d0cdb-12c9-4668-9a6a-ea41b1470b45&from=&fg=rss

This story makes me sick. The poor man was just trying to work. He went to open the doors so the shoppers could come in, and was trampled to death. Even worse, people didn't stop. They continued to walk overtop of him (with the door on top of him) And continued to push the employees and police over when they were trying to aid him as well.
What is wrong with people?

How could you knock a man over and trample over him. To run for a toy, or for a TV to save a little bit of money.
Unbelievable.

Please keep the family in your thought and prayers this Holiday season!
