Logann turns 6
She had a bowling party at the bowling alley! She's at that age that her birthday party's are more about friends :)

Really..come on already
I wanted to record these two memories before I forgot them :)
After Zoe was born and we were in the hospital, I had two breakdowns.
The first came the second morning we were there...so it was Saturday morning. The nurse came in at 6:00 am to take her to the nursery for the Doctor to do the daily check. It was just about time for her to eat. (She was sleeping, as was I...but I figured they'd be back with her quickly. Friday morning she was back to me in a half an hour) so here comes 7:00 am..no baby...7:30...I'm getting anxious...7:45...by 8:00 am I couldn't sleep and I got up and decided to go for my "'walk" (I had to walk the halls 2-3 times a day) so I headed down the hall...(in the opposite direction of the nursery) and then back...then I decided to walk by the nursery....BIG MISTAKE Tasha! I saw her...she was kind of close to the window..she was crying. There were Tons of babies in there. (probably 15-20) Some of them crying. I walked back in our room and lost it. Josh woke to me crying...."she's in there crying" "she's hungry" "why do they have to take all the babies at once and make them wait" "It's after 8:00" I went on and on. Then I sucked it up...and decided to go to another lap of my walk. (by now it's about 8:20am) walked down opposite the nursery....then back by the nursery again...big mistake #2! I walked back into our room and lost it again!! I was able to calm myself down before they finally brought her back in at 8:40. Poor thing was so hungry!
I still think it's crap that they "collect" all those babies at once for the doctor to see and then they all sit there and wait. Why can't they just get a few at a time? My loosing it was mostly hormones...but it also was crap the way they did it.
This by the way was my ONLY complaint about the hospital. They were awesome besides this!!
Breakdown number two happened Saturday afternoon....
I was nursing. We started when we first "met" on Thursday when we got in our room. She was a champ right away. She latched on and sucked away. She continued latching on very well and eating very well day after day. But I was sore. It was mostly when she first latched on...I would wince...I'd curl my toes and hold my breath. After the first few seconds it went away. But oh my those first few seconds were horrible. So horrible that I started to think I couldn't continue...or at least not as much. By Saturday evening I was worn out from visitors, and just tired that it all came out. (My parents were on their way out the door and I let it out to them and Josh) I said that I needed to supplement her with some bottles because I was so sore...but I felt so bad, because she was so good at it. I felt like I wasn't being fair to her. She was doing so well...and I was in so much pain.
They told me that I had to do what was best for me as well as her, that it wasn't making me a bad mom to supplement...yada yada and all of those other things that I needed to hear at the time. They made me feel a little better...and that was the end of my break down.
Sorry that was so long...it was more of a story for me to remember months or years down the road :)

Lots to say
I have a lot of random things to update and blog about!

First of all, tomorrow my little one will be two weeks old! EEK! I can't believe it's been two weeks already. My how time has flown by. I've enjoyed every minute of it though...as I plan to continue doing.
Everything went really well after we came home (last) Sunday. I was very motivated and didn't want to "take it easy" like the people at the hospital told me I would want to do. I was doing laundry, cleaning up the house and ready to go out. I did everything in bits and pieces though, so I wouldn't overdo it. Everything went really well until Saturday...I started with a headache and was just freezing. Some of Josh's family was here and I just couldn't get warm. I took some medicine and eventually I felt a little better...but then started sweating like crazy. It went in cycles like that, paired with a fever. Then I figured out I had mastitis. Yuck. I was stubborn for a few days and didn't want to call the doctor...until yesterday morning I knew I had to. So I called him and we went...my dr wasn't in so I saw another lady...and she checked me out...and said "yep you definitely have mastitis" I wanted to say...NO really!! haha jeex! I wasn't faking the 101.6 fever lady. (plus all the other symptoms) But she gave me an antibiotic and we were on our way.
I'm so glad and the meds are slowly starting to help. I had no energy to do anything for those few days...I just wanted to sleep. It really makes you feel like you have the flu.
We also had to stop at Zoe's doctor. When she was in for her first appointment, the Tuesday after she was born...she weighed 5lbs 12oz, so they wanted us to bring her back this Tuesday just for a weight check to make sure she was gaining. And she did...like a champ! She was 7lbs 4oz.
In daddy news...he has been doing awesome. He's learning everything as we go :) We gave her the first bath together and then last night he gave her one by himself, with me just there for back up. We bought a pump and I try to pump so that he can feed her sometimes too! That was kind of taking a toll on him because she was spending a lot of time with me. :( He was really nervous to feed her for the first time...but I sat with him and he did wonderful. Then yesterday while I was in the doctors office he did it all by himself! I gotta get him ready for days/nights that he's here alone.
Oh! I would also like to say welcome back to my skinny little feet and ankles, and my left ring finger...whom is now home (again) to my wedding ring! Oh how I missed you guys. Soon we'll be welcoming back stomach sleeping :)
And just because she's beautiful...I leave you with this............
Coming Home
We came home on Sunday (a week ago Sunday)
We were sooo ready to get out of there! My Dr was there all night Saturday night so she came in to see me at 6 am...she wrote my percription annd left it with the nurse! By 7:45 they bought in my breakfast and by 8:00 am the nurse came in and said we could leave after breakfast.....uhhh thanks but your breakfast isn't that great! We packed up, Josh loaded the car...and we were home by 10:00 am :)

Let's back up (almost a week)
Thursday morning was the big day :) We had to be at the hospital at 6:45 am. We woke up at about 5:00 and started getting ready. We were both so excited and didn't get much sleep on Wednesday night. When I was getting ready I kept thinking...is it weird that I'm blow drying my hair and "getting ready" to go have a baby :)
When we arrived at the hospital we had to first take care of the "paperwork" luckily they do it all on the computer then we just had to sign a few papers, pay the money and we were on our way. After that it all happened so fast. They checked me into a triage room and started the process. I had a great Labor & Delivery nurse, her name was Michelle. She took great care of me. Another nurse came in to put my iv in...she tried my arm first, and my vein was being very stubborn and would not take. She tried for awhile, then it busted :( (I still have a big nasty bruise) So then she put it in my hand.
Our family got to come back in small groups to say hi before we went into the OR.
Thom who was my anesthesiologist came in and explained everything that he would be doing. He was very nice and did an awesome job of explaining everything.
It was 8:15 before I knew it so I walked down the hall...went pee one last time then walked into the OR at 8:20 am. Josh had to wait in the room and get dressed in his (hot) scrubs. When they took me into the room first they put a few monitors on me.
Then it was Thom's time to start work on my spinal. He did exactly what he said he would, and it felt exactly like he said it would. He said it would feel like a "Texas mosquito" and he knew what those felt like because he spent " a year there one week" :)
The IV hurt more than my spinal. Once it was in they put my "shaky boots" on me. (the leg wraps that blow up to keep your circulation moving to prevent blood clots.) After that they laid me down and I was immediately going numb. My feet were warm and tingly first and then it worked its way up to my chest. Michelle then put my catheter in. Then they hung up the sheet so I couldn't see anything. Then they brought Josh in. (By this time it was about 8:35 am) I was glad they brought him in. I was fine up until I was all the way numb and was just laying there...waiting. I got more and more nervous. And I had the shakes. It was a combination of nervousness, the medication and being freezing. Thom was great and kept getting me warm blankets to put over me and around my head!
By the time Josh walked in they had begun to cut me open....I knew they were about to pull her out when I heard my Doctor start talking to her :) Then it was 8:46 am before we knew it, and they announced her arrival. She came into the world butt first, folded in half with her feet above her head. The other doctor said she could tell she'd been in there like that for awhile now. (Which I already knew) Zoe Maddison came to us with a head full of dark brown hair :)
We were ecstatic! They held her up for me to see, then had to put her on the warmer, which was off to my side...I could still see her, but couldn't hold her yet. Josh went over and took photos of her while they cleaned her up, weighed her and did her foot prints.
She weighed 6lbs 8oz :) And was 19.4" long.
After they wrapped her up like a burrito and let Josh bring her over to see me...I got to smother her in kisses and take a quick photo, then they had to take her up to the nursery to get everything done. Josh went with her and they finished stitching me up. I still couldn't feel a lot, but I did feel some weird pains so I had Thom give me a little something extra, which took the edge off. They were done, and wheeled me out at 9:15 am. I was back in triage by then...and Josh was still gone with her :( I had to stay there for 2 hours...without her. It wasn't too bad. I just took the time to relax. (or try to) I got on my ipod and posted some pictures on facebook and texted a few people to let them know she was here. What else was I supposed to do.
I got restless after a while and kept asking for her. By the time they were ready to bring her back to me...they were ready to take me up to our room...so we just met her up there. by about 11:30 we were settled in our room and my sweet baby girl was in my arms. Finally! I could snuggle, hold, kiss, and love on her :)
Then the visitors began....and that brings us to another post...for another time.

I had to drink this "stuff" to make my stomach less acidic. It was NASTY. Michelle warned me...but it was HORRIBLE...so that's me saying "UGH This stuff is Horrible"

T minus 13 hours...
It's Wednesday!
You know what that means....in a little over 13 hours I will have a baby in my arms :)
Today I'm 39 weeks and 5 days.
Yesterday was my last day at work...it was bitter sweet. I was excited to end the day and be one step closer to Thursday...but sad to leave them :( I was sad to know that I wouldn't ever be sitting there at that desk again...that I wouldn't be there to share everything with them, and to hear all their stories. awww....:(
Today Josh and I had a lot to get done. We started the morning early at 8:30 at Devry, Josh had to sign a paper to change his degree....while we were there my Dr's office called to see if I could come in earlier. (My doctor was going to have to leave for surgery) So we headed towards Sawmill. We stopped at MV (because I just can't stay away) and Nataleigh took one last photo of the baby belly! Then we headed to the Dr.
She told me exactly what I knew she would say. She hasn't flipped. She actually has her butt down there and her feet are over her head. Nice! We went over everything for tomorrow morning. She answered questions and told us that everything should be fine.
After the doctor we headed to lunch with Brett, then we had some other things to get done, then we headed home and I cleaned the house :) It was so nice to cross everything off my to do list. It's all done. Now I'm just finding things to do while relaxing, and keeping myself busy!
I leave you with the last photo :)

Realization
Last night Josh & I had this conversation:
Me: "September 5th mom is having us over to scrapbook at her house....all day."
Josh: "Ok, that's the day of my golf tournament"
Me: "Ok"
Both of us: "Oh....." As we look at each other and the light bulbs click on!
We realized that we can't just make plans without talking to the other half anymore. We have usually just planned whatever we wanted and then told each other after. (Unless it's something big) We now have a little one to figure out in the mix of all that. We've always had Manny to "figure out" if we both have plans, but never been that big of a deal.
(Good thing she can just go with me to moms, she'll only be 3 weeks old so she'll sleep anyway...then he can pick her up when he's done golfing) It's so crazy to think about. Makes me smile.

39 weeks and 3 days!
I thought I needed to do this ONE more time! (I need to have all of this written somewhere so when I go back to scrapbook everything.)
How far along?: 39 weeks and 3 days
Total weight gain: 37 pounds. (I was holding strong until the Ohio State Fair added 4...ugh!)
How big is baby?: Wednesday she was 7lbs and 1 oz :)
Maternity clothes?: Yep! And Josh's big T-shirts for bed. hehe Every night I hear "Quit wearing my shirts!" (he's just kidding)
Stretch marks?: Still on my upper thighs and butt! And inside of my right knee fat, and they go up my thigh! Yuck :( And there's 3 or 4 on my lower belly...They've just appeared in the last 3 weeks. And it itches so bad where they are, I keep putting tons of lotion on them.
Sleep?: Still not good! I toss and turn all night..and then by 7 or 7:30 I'm wide awake.
Best moment this week?: I guess just finding out the exact date we'll meet her :)
Movement?: Kicking me lower and lower...she's still getting lower, even though she's "upside down" Then she gives me high fives on my left side. You can literately feel her put her hand out and touch yours then she pulls it back! Love that!! :)
Food cravings?: Still love my sweet stuff!
Labor signs?: Nope, just small contractions here and there.
Belly button in or out?: Still in..yay! I did not want that to come out.
What I miss: Still Sleeping on my stomach still! And wearing shoes other than flip flops.
What I'm looking forward to: Thursday of course. And actually Wednesday too, so I can see her on the screen again :)
Stop reading here if you don't want TMI!
Milestone: Friday I lost my mucus plug (or at least some of it) And had a little leak on my shirt :) Both good steps!

The list.
The to do list got longer since we have an exact date and time to be at the hospital :)
I got some things done today (my day off) which was nice. I had to do a lot of sitting though.
My feet have swollen up and not gone down for about 5 days now....they're really painful if I stand up or wear shoes. Flip flops are my new BFF :)
Tomorrow at work we're all going out for my "leaving" lunch. Whitney can't make it :( It's her day off and she has to work at her part time job so she can't come along..it was the only day that everyone else was able to go. We'll miss you Whit.
Then tomorrow night Cindy's going to come see the baby's room and Josh and I will work on cleaning the garage!
Josh doesn't think Thursday is going to come very quickly...I do though. I have something going on everyday so it's going to fly by!
One more day closer to being a mama!

Day of BIG news!
I went to the doctor today, hoping for some progress news...and boy did I get news.
She was measuring me, and I was asking how much she thought she weighed...she felt around, squeezed my belly and said probably high 6's or low 7's at the most!
She then did my internal exam and said I was 1cm dilated and wasn't softening up at all. Then came the news....she said she thought she felt a head, but wasn't sure and she wanted to be sure so she was going to send me to see the ultrasound tech.
She had to leave to go do a delivery...so I marched down the hall to his room and he gelled me up and gave me the news....she's breech! That would be her little head up in my right set of ribs all the time, that I assumed was a foot.
He measured her head, and belly, and told me she's 7lbs 1oz. He said she has room to flip, and for me to go out and eat spicy food, and there's a chance that could do the trick! He said they'd do another scan Wednesday when I come back to see if she had flipped yet.
I left thinking that was the end of it until I go back next Wednesday. Until my phone at work rang...and it was my doctor! She said we needed to talk. I had two options.
First, would be to send me to the hospital, give me an epidural and do an external version. (Which for those of you who don't know, it's where she would push, with the help of an assistant, on my belly and try to make her do a somersault) there are risks to this...the baby's heart rate dropping is the main one, which is why it's done at the hospital. It could then put me into labor, which is fine. It could not work (she said there's about a 50-50 chance of it working) and then I'd have to have a C-section anyway. This is something that can work really well for some women with ideal circumstances...but I do not have those because I have a frontal placenta. Since my placenta is in the front, when they're pushing on my belly there's a chance that it would detach and that would cause huge issues.
The second option is to have a C-section scheduled. She said it was my choice but she would recommend having the C-section. So it's scheduled. Next Thursday the 13th, I will be laying on a table being cut open.
I'm ok with all of this..Josh, not as much. I would rather go the safe route...and not risk something happening to her, or myself. I am ok with not having a "regular" birth. If this is what will ensure that she is safe and healthy, and I'm safe and healthy...then I'm ok with it.
Josh is nervous. He doesn't like the idea of me being cut open. I'm sure we'll do a lot of talking about it tonight.
Yes, there is a chance that she'll flip herself before Thursday...but probably not. We can only hope! I will have an ultrasound on Wednesday (the 12th) to see where she is...if she flipped herself then we'll schedule my induction for the 20th, like we would have done anyway if I hadn't gone into labor by then. But if she's still breech we'll proceed with the C-section Thursday morning!

Ohio State Fair
Monday we all headed to the Ohio State Fair! Mom, Dad, me, Abbie, Logann, Ashley and Ab...then Melissa came and met us when she got off work! It was hot but there was a nice breeze blowing all day. It was like 82, I think. Luckily we had the wagon to pile the kids, all of our stuff and for me to sit on sometimes :)
The awesome Jumpy thing...I totally would have done this if I wasn't preggo! Abbie wasn't so sure about it...this is her telling us...."I don't know what I'm supposed to do" we were like..just jump! Then she goes "uhh this makes my stomach feel uneasy!" haha she jumped but not real high.
